A Tattooist Biography
Raymond’s story starts in the small town of Blessing, Texas.
Always drawing while paying attention in class, Raymond’s interest in art started at a young age. Raymond spent most of his early years writing music with his childhood friends, drawing on shoes, creating custom clothing, and eventually taking interest in fine arts and graphic design. Raymond enrolled into The University of North Texas in Denton to become a nuclear engineer but instead decided to focus on his creative passions. In college, he made waves by having multiple pieces of work on display in the College of Visual Arts’ galleries, re-creating master works, and by working hard to be accepted into the prestigious graphic arts program.
Drawing inspiration from surrealist artists along with anachronistic and contemporary design, Raymond focuses on a mix of American and Japanese traditional tattooing along with modern techniques of black and grey realism accompanied with color realism. Raymond has his sights set on creating legible tattoos that will raise the bar in the tattooing community.
Raymond owes his talent and love for tattooing to all of his mentors from 1st Revelation Tattoo, the surrounding community, and support from family, friends, and coworkers.
